The projects of the Prelada group are based on associating the new casinos to hotels and tourist complexes, since its board considers that “the concept of the traditional casino is fading as a concept” and that it is time to “explore global entertainment strategies, with a wider gaming offer”.
Based on this view, the group has invested 8.5 million euros to open their first casino in Argentina: casino Melincué, located in the southern Argentinean province of Santa Fe. This casino integrates a tourist complex that includes a 40-room hotel, a convention center with capacity for 500 people, restaurants, swimming pools, tennis courts and an exclusive lagoon spot with many attractions.
The Prelada group continues to grow with its expansion project, since it has won a new permit for the installation of a new casino in the capital city of Santa Fe, which could be opened by March 2008. For this project, the group is planning a 70-room hotel and a bigger casino, for which an investment of 30 million euros is expected.
Apart from these two casinos in Argentina, the Peralada group is analyzing other projects that include the opening of more casinos in Latin America and Europe. At the moment, they are planning the construction of a casino in the Azores Islands with the collaboration of a Portuguese group.
