With the objective of surviving in the highly competitive world of gambling, Macao casinos have launched a new strategy in order to widen and diversify the public that gambles in the island: they want to attract VIP players from all over the world.
In May this year, Macao opened its first six-star casino, named Macao Crown, which represents the 26th casino opened in the island and is specially designed to attract a big number of VIP players.
Casino tycoon Stanley Ho has declared recently that by the end of this year he will include a fleet of charter flights for VIP clients, in which he has just invested more than 100 million dollars. At the same time, Galaxy Entertainment Group, an important casino operator, is trying to include classic Japanese games in order to be the first to offer games targeted to Japanese high profile players in the former Portuguese colony.
The incomes generated by the casino industry in Macao have increased 45.8% in the third trimester, reaching the record number of 2.548 million dollars. Despite these results, the new path that the Gambling industry in Macao is taking has an uncertain future according to analysts who consider that a big concentration in VIP profile players is not sustainable.
